1 to 1 yoga & Yoga Therapy
personalised, bespoke yoga
My approach is always to work with you as an individual
Yoga therapy is a means of empowering you to support your health in a way that’s right for you, using
the body; through movement, strength and balancing asymmetries
the nervous system; for relaxation & pain reduction
the mind; to assess what changes can be made to improve health and reflect on how best to do this
You are unique, as are your circumstances, needs and abilities. I provide yoga that’s unique for you. Even for two people with the same health condition, I provide different yoga practices because of the differences between individuals. We look at your current health picture and what you are experiencing to look at how to minimise or manage symptoms.
1 to 1 yoga is a personalised way of practising yoga to develop your yoga and allowing flexibility in how you practise. You may want to work on specific area of interest, particular postures or develop your practice in less commonly taught aspects of yoga, for example pranayama. I work with you to find ways for you to practice yoga in the right way for you.
What’s involved?
1 to 1 sessions and yoga therapy sessions are personal and individual yoga sessions. The session time is used to design, develop and go through in detail your personal yoga practice. This reflects your current health as well your aims or goals and how to make the practice easy to put into your week. You take this individual practice away with you (it can also be recorded for you to watch later) for use at home.
1 to 1 yoga and yoga therapy are most effective used over a period of time. Sessions are spaced a little apart to allow you time to practice before the next session. Each session is reviewed to see what’s happening and adjusted to accomodate change and progress. You progress at the speed that’s right for you.
